The weather this fall (and I can use the word fall, because the temperature has been below 90 degrees the last week, and is forecasted to stay that way) has been amazing. I feel like I moved out of Texas when I moved to Fort Worth. I grew up here and cannot remember a more remarkably beautiful autumn.
I have talked often about how I would like to live in a place that enjoys all of the four seasons. I am proud to admit that in 2010, Texas seems to have hit them all. Our winter was very cold indeed (sub 20’s in College Station for a few nights, sorry about that pipes at the Live Oak house). Spring was short, but delightful. I remember sitting outside of Mugwalls enjoying the fresh air, reading in the sun, not sweating (a rarity on a warm day in the humid climate). Summer was hot, but not too sweltering. In Dallas there was a warm breeze from the north, which kept the humidity away until mid-August. And now, several cold fronts have made September and October my favorite weather months thus far. I can only imagine what this winter will be like.
So it being Texas, and having no guarantee of future autumns of this caliber, I have decided to make a list of things I want to do this autumn.
-Carve a pumpkin
-Jump in a huge pile of leaves
-Drink apple cider while enjoying a sunset
-Go camping in an area with hills and foliage
-Attempt to enjoy halloween–this means dress up
-Go to a TCU football game
-Write a screenplay (this isn’t particularly autumny…but it still counts)
Anything else I should add?
